The award was presented on Friday April 17th to Scorpio Worldwide Chairman Stuart McGuire during the annual DFNI Charity Ball held at the London Lancaster.  This is the fourth consecutive year that Scorpio Worldwide has won the award and adds to the regional DFNI Americas Supplier of the Year and ARC Asia Best Inflight Distributor awards achieved earlier this year. The BIG news in Singapore is the launch of The Yamaha Factory Racing VR | 46 Watch Collection by TW Steel.  A collection of eight watches with 45mm carbon cases, comprising four chronograph models and four 3-hand models with black, blue, white or yellow silicon straps, this collaboration delivers on its promise to bring the passion, performance and excitement of MotoGP superstar Valentino Rossi in a stealth by TW Steel design. A racer’s watch inspired by the master himself, accept no substitute.

The official launch takes place on the Scorpio stand on Tuesday May 12th 2015 at 1700 hours when Scorpio’s Sales & Marketing director Richard Kennedy will explain the strategy behind the new introduction. Scorpio’s leading success story Aviator sees new men’s and ladies collections that focus on the latest dial-colour and finish trend. For men there are 12 new models in all, including three with various dial colours and finishes; all chronographs that maintain the Aviator design principals, look and feel. For ladies, Aviator introduces five new models, combining blue and purple dials with interchangeable straps in a range of colours, finishes and materials. Favourite designer Karen Millen offers a range of contemporary classic watches featuring contrasting elements with the finest leather straps. In Singapore, three new models are being introduced – all updates to existing designs. The first two are strap versions of the popular small round model, one in polished stainless steel with white dial and strap, the other finished with rose gold plating, chocolate colour dial and strap.  The third watch is another version of the ladies cocktail watch with silver dial and pearlized azure blue strap.  All come with Swarovski elements creating serious wrist candy for any Karen Millen lover! Everyone who wears a watch had to learn to tell the time initially – the latest Time Design Time Teaching Watches for boys and girls make the process great fun by including easy to use and understand activities.Also aimed at children, the Ani-snap Mix and Snap comes with a snap on wristband and three interchangeable fun watch heads: dog, owl and penguin.

Within the jewellery sector, Scorpio’s long-standing favourite brand Pierre Cardin is expanded with two new watch and jewellery set families in a range of new colours and designs.  These include new pendant and earring sets, six new bangles and bracelets, plus a new interchangeable pendant set concept. Finally, from the sophisticated and classy Danish designer Dyrberg Kern, Scorpio is offering buyers three new gorgeous bangles finished in gold plating with black and white enamel detailing.

May 20 saw the official opening of Scorpio Worldwide’s new Middle East regional office at the Jumeirah Business Centre in Jumeirah Lake Towers – five times the size of Scorpio's previous showroom at 2,545 sq ft.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was carried out by Emirates Airline Vice President Retail Services John Sime and was attended by a number of industry guests including Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman Colm McLoughlin and wife Breda plus buyers from DUFRY Eurasia, Aldeasa Kuwait, Muscat Duty Free, Emirates Airline, Traveller, DFS Abu Dhabi, Suzan General Trading, Indu Worldwide and members of the media.

Guests were greeted by Scorpio Worldwide Chairman Stuart McGuire who said: ‘Our new offices reflect our commitment to the region, and provide a platform to build on our success over the past five years and create further growth.  I would like to thank all our customers and suppliers for their faith in us, and for Garry (Stoner), Vanessa (Hill) and the whole team, who have done an excellent job.’

Scorpio Worldwide will be showcasing a number of new product ideas for in-flight sales at TFWA Asia Pacific Conference & Exhibition this year (Stand N20).

The phenomenally successful Lip Smacker range of flavoured lip-balms has been extended for inflight with a new exclusive Coca-Cola tin offering a combination of lip balms and lip gloss. This brand new item will launch in Q4 this year. Additional new packs will also be available to travel retail ground shops including a new Coca-Cola Lip Happiness Tin, a Coca-Cola Collectable Tin containing a tasty trio of Classic, Cherry, and Vanilla Coca-Cola flavoured lip balms and the Coca-Cola Trio Cane, that comes with three lip balms and a Coca-Cola can keyring.

The Max Benjamin range of natural-blend plant-based oil well-being candles comes from Co Wicklow in Ireland. The perfect travel gift, it comes in two varieties: Calm and Uplifting or Moroccan Mint Tea & White Pomegranate. Both contain two travel sized candles and will retail at approximately £25.00. Brand new in Singapore will be a luxury Well-being Diffuser in Calm and Uplifting varieties, each with a screw-cap bottle of fragrance and eight black diffusing sticks. Offered in premium packaging, the retail price will be approximately £30 ($45). Strong interest has already been shown from the Middle East and Asia.

Jacques du Manoir is proving to be one of Scorpio’s most successful watch brands, with sales of the new ladies double wrap strap watch far beyond expectations. Totally on-trend, the double wrap leather strap watches are available in several colours including white, pink, dark or light tan, chocolate, red, black, light and dark blue. These Swiss made watches come with a stainless steel case (some with rose gold plating), mineral glass, white dial with Roman numerals, and a two-year international warranty. With genuine Swiss quartz movement, the range is priced at just £99.99 ($149) and is expected to be a top seller for 2013.

A new collection of Chrono models is being added to the Sturmanskie watch range. Developed specifically for Scorpio, the Sturmanskie collection includes a replica of the first watch worn in space by cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin in 1961. Back in the 1960s Sturmanskie watches were the standard issue for Soviet pilots and were not available to the public – they were chosen because of their military precision, workmanship and reliability. Scorpio has now brought this amazing brand to travel retail with an exclusive collection of men’s retro watches, sympathetically designed to replicate the originals and- in particular – the Gagarin model. Suggested retail price of the new Chrono range is US$250.

These new lines join a wide portfolio of watches, jewellery, children’s products, travel essentials – including new Flatmates folding shoes, and perfume/cosmetics available to airline buyers globally.

Scorpio Worldwide was again named Best Inflight Agent/Distributor at ARC (Airline Retail Conference) 2013 Asia-Pacific, held in Hong Kong from February 25-27. The company was awarded the same accolade at the regional ARC event in Singapore last year and has won ARC's global award for the past two years.

The award is voted online by delegates attending the Hong Kong event in the run-up to the conference. The award was presented at the ARC 2013 Asia-Pacific gala dinner on 26 February to Scorpio Worldwide sales and marketing director Richard Kennedy.
